Fajr Petrochemical Company has published its Social Responsibility Report for the third consecutive year
According to the Public Relations
Department of Fajr Petrochemical Company, following the publication of the
Sustainability Reports for 2015 and 2016, the company published its third
Sustainability Report for 2017 after planning, editing and compiling it with
the help of some domestic experts and also through using the experiences of the
two previous reports in the form of "Report on the Performance of Social
Responsibility -2016".
In this regard, it has also
published the report in the form of a Sustainability Report after holding some
social responsibility meetings at the level of the company with the presence of
members of some working groups and through collection of information from
different levels of organization and external stakeholders. In the first step, it
had prepared the matrices of the important cases that indicate the alignment of
the social responsibility with the perspectives and organizational goals of
Fajr company
It has also held some meetings
with the relevant working groups to collect information in order to edit and compile
the third Fajr Petrochemical Sustainability Report, which took about 5 months
to finalize the report.
Fajr
Petrochemical Company has also taken some transparent measures to prepare the
report through completion of the standardized worksheets in three areas of
social, economic, and environmental, by holding some face to face meetings with
the authorities of various departments and also providing them with some explanations
which are in accordance with the experience of publishing the two previous
reports, as well.
It is worth mentioning that
the Sustainability Report of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reflects the
organization's image from the perspective of the ISO 26000 on social
responsibility, which by itself includes seven principles of accountability,
transparency, ethical behavior, respecting the interests and concerns of
stakeholders, respect for international standards of good conducts and respect
for human rights.
It also
standardizes the principles for organizations in seven titles as: corporate
governance, human rights, employee engagement, environment, fair operating
practices, consumer issues, and social contributions.
Considering
the approach and the content of the compilation and publication of the
Sustainability Report published last year, Fajr Petrochemical Company could
basket the Golden Statue of the third largest oil industry festival on social
responsibility, and became a leading company in the oil, gas, refining and
petrochemical industry of the country.
As the report added: "All
the organizations around the world and their stakeholders are increasingly
getting aware of the necessity and benefits of a social responsible behavior
based on the framework of “Global Reporting Initiative (G.R.I).
In fact, the objectives of social
responsibility is to contribute to sustainable development. So, it is important
to say that the performance of an organization - in terms of its impact on
society and also its impact on the environment - is an important factor to assess
the overall performance of the organization and its ability to effectively
continue its activities.
The
framework implies that all organizational activities in the long run prove to
be depended on healthy global ecosystems, because various stakeholder groups
are scrutinizing the organizations. The groups' perceptions of the performance
of an organization in the area of social responsibility can normally include the
competitive advantage of the organization, its credibility and ability to
attract employees and customers, as well.
