These pumps, manufactured in France, are used to inject chemicals, including acid, ferric chloride, and sodium hypochlorite, into the water pretreatment process. Due to limitations in foreign supply, access to spare parts for these pumps had been challenging.
The project was carried out over approximately two years in cooperation with experts from the Mechanical Maintenance and Technical Inspection departments and a domestic knowledge-based company. During this process, the drawings, mechanisms, and materials of the components of the original foreign models were examined, after which the local models were designed, manufactured, and optimized.
Following material, performance, and process tests, the locally manufactured pumps were evaluated in terms of pressure and flow rate against the specifications of the foreign models and were approved by the Technical Inspection, Operations, and Zone 2 Water Maintenance units.
This achievement represents an effective step toward reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, increasing equipment reliability, and developing domestic manufacturing capabilities at Fajr Energy Persian Gulf Company.
Given the success of the project, the groundwork has also been laid for the use of these locally manufactured pumps in other petrochemical complexes across the country.
